Daniel Hurley missed a lot of rugby last year is in the sub academy ? Did he play for the development side over the summer?

He is in the Munster Full Academy.

Stewart would be favourite now considering he has experience at this level, although i'm sure Hughie will get a start at some stage.

Considering Belvedere have been in last 3 schools finals winning 2 , why do they not have more representation in academies or ire u20 team? What happened to Jennings, De jong,McKeon and more? Just not good enough or quit?

bit of both. Winning a schools cup doesn't mean huge amount. Better individuals from other clubs, schools. Some may not want to play at level to play Irish 20s or join academy and others just not good enough

Fair enough I suppose they were 3 exceptionally well drilled well coached sides , just thought a few more would of kicked on

The most talented players in those sides - Hugh O'Sullivan & David Hawkshaw will both make academy.. O'Sullivan already being in there.

Other than that - Jennings/De Jongh not considered good enough. While McKeown spent last season in Australia.

De Jongh should have tied to convert to hooker IMO.

Is that to do with the strength of the u20s this year or are the current u19 not up to much?

Jennings would have been good enough for 20s last year and possibly a Connaught academy spot.

Jennings played for clontarf in the ail last year so him not even getting a look in at all is a bit odd, de jong played for old belvo seconds i think so not as weird not to see him at all but still a bit odd, no idea about mckeon. As to why they weren't considered for any squads i suppose the coaches are the only ones who can answer that properly.

The most talented u19's are mostly still in school, so therefore not eligible.

I'm sure a few will be involved in wider squad - Harry Byrne, James McCarthy, Craig Casey are three pretty likely to be involved.

don't think Jennings had any interest in playing pro/academy rugby.

I think there's a little bit of truth in that - plenty of people have fallen foul of the 20s over the years and I don't think  certain long term coach has helped that. It would appear most of that group found SCT fairly heavy going too when you look at the overall drop out rate. Jenno has started all of our games in so far this year. James McKeown is just back from Oz and has played in all 3 of our games so far and looks sharp (has scored 2 or 3 tries I think). Tom DJ is taking a year out from what I hear.

lots of complaints about that coach, but everyone has to deal with him..

Jennings/McKeown have talent for academy place... hope they go well this season.

Completely agree still a pity they won't do anything about it. Jenno needs to settle down on a position as much as anything I think. I like him at 15 personally. I'm very excited to see how McKeown goes this year it's a shame he missed out on a cut at the 20s last year.

De Jong trained with the 20s during the six nations to cover injures

He is not the only coach involved and has pretty much always has the best squad. Easy to assign a coach as being 'great' because they're at a team that is always successful. I would disagree with saying he is highly rated as well.

I think he is talking about a different coach fwiw.

Interesting. Dignam a great talent but Fabian surely too small to play at a high level

He can play scrumie, no such thing as too small there. Its AIL/20s too so not like its academy or anything.
Where did dignam play last year?

Would it be too late for the academy for these two now? Even if they tear it up in ail?

By signing for them I meant not leaving for Ulster had offers related to his studies.

Hearing rumours of Cormac Daly being linked with English championship side Ealing trailfinders. Could be wrong but is English qualified as far as I know

It wouldn't really too late for academy but more likely they follow in mick mcgraths footsteps if they ever do play for leinster or another team in Ireland

Just hearing rumours of this recently. Ulster also on the cards. He would fit in well with their setup

Potentially. Naas tighthead Adam Coyle moved to Mary's recently so surely Tarf would be a better move for him personally
