decent wage

    would like to hear what people think is a decent wage not talking about doctors or self employed just the the normal joe soap

    is 500 euro enough to live on or is 400 ok or should i say 700 to 600

    Excluding transport and housing I agree with that.
    Add in €1000/month for housing and €400/month for transport (car essentially) and you'd need €2200/month after tax IMO so whatever wage gives that is decent for a single person IMO.

    By decent I mean you wouldn't have to particularly watch every penny and could save a €100/month for a holiday too without making major sacrifices.

    Folks might reckon €1000/month is a lot for housing but I know people paying more for house shares close to Dublin and a €200k mortgage over 30 years would be that too.

    €400/month for transport highly subjective too, you have folk who'd spend much less on public transport but of course others spend more on cars when fuel, paying for the thing and all other related expenses are considered.

    About €33k gross without paying into a pension.
