Ha ha some crap nonsensical lines tonight.

They put Charlie, an unconscious man in his 80s. through the MRI and that's where he woke up, as if that would ever happen. :D:D:D

Niamh told Louie that "Brexit" would affect the sale of a small Dublin café from a businessman based in America, what the hell would Brexit have to do with anything?? And I see she is back with Paul, thus making the whole Plan a complete waste of time. :D:D

How did Robbie know that Cathal would be in the car park? And that there would be no witnesses? Plus Cathal needs A&E after that swift kick to the chins with a hurley and yet he walks into the very pub where Robbie and Carol spend their lives with only a slight limp..

Robbie rang Carol at the start and said "when you get this come to me".....em, she was literally standing next to you at the end of Tuesdays episode...then Carol emerges from the road all tearful and distracted.

Ama just happened to be the one to tend to Charlie- nobody else from the large crowd of dancers had first aid experience then??

    Absolutely p!ss poor tonight.

Louis should get together with Oision. Some scheming.

Actually Louis looks a lot more like his father than Paul.

Also Jack does not lookin the least like Louis or Carol. Some mad dormant blond gene there.

My daughter spent a few hours in Louis (Alan Devine's) company today. He was giving a workshop on public speaking at their school. She said he was one of he nicest people you could meet. And she's hard to impress.

But Lushious! Everyone knows Carol is a brilliant mother! Or so they kept telling us tonight.

I saw Helen Norton aka Vivian in a play in The Everyman last night. She was brilliant! Very witty and clever and she co-wrote it. They're off to Edinburgh with it next.

When Niamh was looking around Vino's the other night I wonder what her PLAN was?
I think it might have being Ruthie would be handy doing the washing up!

I wish Ingrid would stop calling Carol "Carl". She has a funny way of talking, like she's afraid to open her mouth fully. Come to think of it, Juliette and Farrah are the same.

Oh and while I'm at it who goes for a run (or rather comes back from a run) with perfect makeup?

I'm sensing a Kerri Ann - Mondo reunion. They are better suited than KA and Decco anyway.

The less letters the actors say the less they have to pay them!

Every time I saw Carol in last nights episode I wanted to punch the telly. They've ruined her character.

Louis 'Michael O'Leary' Gleeson is doing my head in.

All these ruthless 'business' as*hole types with their obsession with material things bore me.

Even the ads for Ireland's Rich List. I don't begrudge them but i don't give two fcuks about them or their lifestyle.

Most of us are in the middle 'coping' classes and have to work hard for modest income. I'm thankful to be there and not like some poor unfortunates in poverty or homeless.

But the Louis Gleeson types make me want to vomit. I never saw a trailer behind a hearse. Family, friends, helping others, doing something to help another who's struggling, if it's only a smile, are the important things.

    Rant over!

I agree with you so much. Where are the working class people in RTE? Its mad, most people in this country are working class and yet RTE shove these shows like Home of the Year where these millionaires smugly show off the fact they have a spare 5 million lying around so they can build this spaceship in the middle of Wicklow, ooh aren't we so great. Fcuk off
Dermot Bannon is the same thing, more wealth and money shoved down peoples throats. Show some real, genuine people ffs.

Ahh yes ester from slimstar! jesus christ, I remember she just didn't show up one episode, the poor woman had died in real life, shame on the writers for forgetting her and shame on posher also, the big DWEEB!

Disgraceful the way Esther has been airbrushed out of Charlie's life. The actress who played her and passed away in real life, deserved some recognition. Unforgivable the way her death was treated in the programme

It is also possible that her family didn't want them to do anything...

Ah here. They didn't have to have a shrine to her. He could have just said 'And my wife Esther'.

It was poor taste for them to completely omit her.

Ah lads, FC is just wrecking my head at the moment.
I can't watch the whole Carol fiasco, I usually go flicking on my phone when her story line is on now.
Kerri Ann and her latest fixations, pregnancy first and now Mondo. Can't they give the girl a good sensible story line at all?
Paul and Niamh back wheeling and dealing. Pathetic.
I'm seriously considering giving up and give Corrie a try. Corrie's promo on Facebook looked really good. Is it a good soap?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,213 ✭✭✭dee_mc

I gave up on Corrie some years ago and in the meantime it apparently has improved a lot but I'm not going to start watching it again.
I gave up on Fair City this week, had stored three episodes and watched them back to back and it kind of reminded me of that old piece of advice that if you find your teenager smoking you should sit them down and make them smoke a whole pack at once - chances are they'll never want to look at a cigarette again. I think the third episode was the straw that broke the camel's back, sickened by how poor the writing is and how every plot seems to go round in circles, so many clichés, so many unnecessary scenes and so much repeated dialogue, it's not funny anymore.
I've been a 'it's so bad it's nearly good, keep watching for the craic' viewer for some time now but enough is enough, it's awful sh1te. Series link cancelled. I'm out.

Luscious and Dee, don't leave us this way!
We can't afford to lose any more followers.
When you think about it, we've been through a lot of pure shoite now for a long time, and while we all know that FC is probably not going to get any better, it'd be difficult for it to get worse.. though that's not guaranteed either!
The one thing that bothers me is that RTÉ counts us as fans, whereas we only watch in order to take the p*ss out of it. Which is the only thing it's any good for, and even then you have to wonder is it even worth that.
Just give it till Christmas, in the rather forlorn hope that's things might improve, then, if you've still had enough, (and who can blame you?) then I'll be happy to join you in deserting this sinking, stinking, ship.
Hang in there, it can't get much worse.
Though I remember saying that about three years ago too!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,213 ✭✭✭dee_mc

Yeah, no, they've proven time and again that it can get worse!
I'll probably watch the Christmas day episode - sure I could nearly write it myself, it'll be all the same storylines they're hacking away at now!
I'll dip in and out of this thread from time to time tho, it's always more fun than actually watching!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 431 ✭✭LushiousLips

I'd miss this thread more than the show itself being honest. I'll also hang on till Christmas, for your posts alone Coolhull ;);)
