Using AirMiles

So I'm recently after totting up a good chunk of Air Miles with Virgin Atlantic over the past 2 years and would love to avail of them next year.

Having never used air miles before, I'd love to know if it's really all that. Can I literally pay for a round trip flight solely with air miles? It seems that I have the required amount 20k but Virgin is asking me for an extra £233 on top of that for going to India.

I find the Virgin website too clunky and not user friendly hence why I can't seem to get the right information here.

Has anyone used Virgin Airmiles before they'd care to share their experience with please?

    20,000 isn't a lot of airmiles tbh.

Booking economy flights probably isn't the best use of airmiles anyway - I always use them to upgrade to business class. When you use them for economy flights most airlines will hit you for taxes and charges regardless.
