    Hello,

First, excuse me if this turns out to be a stupid question but I'm not actually Irish and I'm at a loss regarding the postcodes ^^

Here's the story: I know there's a postcode system in Ireland, and I actually know what the exact postcode for my area is. But on a particular e-shop, I can't enter the postcode myself. Postcodes are suggested in the address form after I enter where I live (Cork city) & none look like mine.

So here are the postcodes I can choose from:
    CORKISH (CVB)
    CORKIP (ROC)
    CORKBEG (COC)
    CORK (COG)
    CORKEY (DOD)
    CORKASHYBANE (MO)
    CORKASHYDUFF (MO)
    CORKAN (WM)
    CORKNOCK (MO)

I assume I have to choose "CORK (COG)" but would anyone be able to confirm this is the right one? Where do this "COG" come from? ^^

I don't want my order to be delivered at the wrong address xD

    Thanks a lot!

we don't have a "postcode" in Ireland we have a property identification code which identifies each and every property individually.

Most delivery systems have their own legacy location system and so the eircode is usually only required in a rural area where thare can be confusion.

Where the eircode comes in very handy (and I've had to use it) is for emergency services to locate you quicker. For that, it is priceless especially in rural areas.

So on delivery forms "NA" will suffice

Got a delivery yesterday from Amazon via Fastaway using my Eircode. No need to give them directions anymore.

That's where its brilliant - sometimes I have to meet people in rural areas, the eircode brings me to the door and similarly I'm in a very rural location, and it means less explaining to turn left after forest and second left, first right and house with green door half way down lane next to house with pond.

Only downside is the mother in law can locate me.
