Have to say I'm really looking forward to this one. Not sure how it's going to go, a real 50/50 fight but I'm actually leaning towards Ohara.

Added bonus that it is on Channel 5.

Brilliant fight. Thinking Taylor myself. Just hope he can do the rounds comfortably. Far better pedigree.

A fight that deserves so much more promotion. It's a Cyclone promotion but you'd think Hearn would give it a bit of a push given Davies is his fighter. Hasn't done a thing. Either he's just being a dick about it or he's not that confident in Davies getting the job done.

Very strange from Hearn . And from Davies himself

Apparently Ohara is on a guaranteed purse so there's no need to promote the fight apart from showing up to the press conferences and make weight

But surely if Hearn is confident of a Davies win he promotes it hard to get the fight a big audience and have Davies become a bigger name. Davies can't sell any tickets at the minute, he's a relative nobody with zero fanbase. Perfect chance to put that right this weekend with enough promotion and a win. Hearn has no interest though.

It all kicked off on the BT card with crowd trouble. Did Ohara come out to some wrestling tune?

    To the Undertaker's music. :pac:

If I was Davies I think I would turn around and chin Mcguigan.

    Davies is so wild!

That was very silly from Taylor to stop boxing even though it was low.

Taylor just picking off the shots now. Very impressive.

You gotta hand it to Davies, he's not the prettiest but he's taking the punches and just keeps coming back for more.

I'd love if he caught Josh with one of those crazy swings and delivered him in to McGuigan's lap.

Davies disappoints for me, wild swinger, I like Taylor though.

He did also take a knee

Davies a bit of a swinger but getting off some lovely short right hooks.

Could Taylor's bravado be his undoing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Davies lacks a bit of the class Taylor has but he is showing some heart here.

Josh needs to be careful with the gas tank.

Great performance by Taylor, can't warm to him though, there's something unlikable about him. Classy fighter though.

Decent fight but relatively routine for Taylor. Davies is too wild and lacks ring IQ as well as skills.

Ive a feeling Ohara wanted out of there. The warning signs was there very early on in the fight when he looked disinterested.

He def didnt seem to have much of a plan... swing wildly and hope for the best

He's still pretty much inexperienced. He didn't have much of an amateur career.

    Explains that

As much as Taylor was impressive, I still think he needs fighters that will bring him the distance before fighting for world titles. I still get the impression that he's learning when it comes pacing himself.

Well that fight against a novice needs to be improved upon with better opposition

Pretty easy work for Taylor. Proper levels fight. That amateur pedigree really showed. Think he'll go really far.

    He'd take Burns apart tomorrow.

Lot of talk on the net today of "Ohara Davies quit just like Kell Brook did". Few interesting videos up on IFL. Interview with both fighters after the fight and an interview with Eddie Hearn...

Oh and an interview with Dillian Whyte just for kicks. :D

The physical differences between the two was glaring. Taylor is really a WW boiled down. Looks at least a full weight naturally bigger than Davies.

Just cant warm to Taylor for some reason . Find him quite unlikeable

    It's because he's a nob.

I'm all for that to be honest. Need more of it in boxing.

Loved how Taylor went into Davies' face after the stoppage as well. No faux rivalry like Haye-Bellew. Proper hatred and he made him quit. Doesn't get any better.
