Meguiers Wax and Quick Detailer

    Hi all,

I've been using Mequiers products on my Spitfire with a 1K (direct gloss) cellulose finish. First used Ultimate Compound, then Ultimate Polish (after an initial flatting back and compounding with Farecla G3 and G10). I then used NXT Gen 2.0 Wax and polish off then with a spray of Quick Detailer. Looks great........kinda.

I keep getting swirls and a patchy finish that takes a long time to remove. I'm using clean microfibres/applicator pads. I applied another coat of wax at the weekend, left it to dry for well over an hour, maybe even two and after the swipe test deemed it dry enough to buff. On curved panels its not too bad, but, on the boot panel for instance which is a pretty flat area I keep getting darker patches/swirls that just seem to move about (if that makes sense) even with QD.

Its a dark enough color I guess, but its just a tad frustrating that the waxing and shining takes more effort than I reckon it should, or, is this the norm?

Yes Meguiar's is your only man. I sold 2 cars on Donedeal using this product.
    Nice job on the car.

Plenty of waxes that are easier to work with.
However my concern would be the dark areas you speak of. Meguiars would be decent products but several stronger ranges that aren't as accessible...Autoglym and Meguiars are more known as the likes of motor factors and Halfords carry their ranges.

Fully decontaminating the paintwork might help the easier removal of the Meguiars wax. Fallout removal and claybar of the paint.

    Nice motor! ;)
