I interviewed for the position of inside sale at a b2b company last monday. And I think it went well, we discussed alot over all very pleasant. Sent a email to thank them for the opportunity to interview after.

I have a friend in another company and he has told me of a new process that they will be rolling out in about 6 months. Now the company I interviewed with, they can make this process so much more efficient with great ease. They will save money on labour and make the process so much faster and likely attract new customers.

I was thinking of putting together a short proposal and informing the lady who interviewed me of the opportunity, so they can see my work ethic, eagerness for the position etc. Do you think i should do it? It may help me get the job? or maybe I come across as annoying? But I am certain that the company i interviewed with can make these guys a client easily.

Personally, i think you might come across as annoying, your not even in the door yet and your a 'know it all' and trying to 'make changes'. I am not saying you are, but this might be how you are perceived. Just my opinion.

No don't. If anything you're giving information for free or using insider knowledge. Better keep it for when you have the role and can present it as an idea.

Yes I thought the same. Its a position in switzerland that will require me to move there which I want so bad! And the interview was a 40 minute skype call. And I felt like we built some rapport?

I as hoping it would help me land the job...

I asked some other people and i still got polarizing views.

The lady that interviewed me is available on skype all day. `I was thinking maybe I send her something along the lines of :

    Hi Catherine,

After we our last discussion, I reviewed your product offering and I really felt a passion grow for XYZ and belief in its products. I put together a short report on a potential new client for XYZ. This report outlines some information I researched online and from my business contacts. I understand it may seem a bit unorthodox so I'd like your permission to send it to you.

    Kind Regards,

She'll say yes, even just for curiosity sake. If she can put that information to good use then she stands to get the kudos.

It's not something I would do other than informally over a cup of coffee and I would be certain to take home any paperwork and not leave it with them.

This is business, nothing is fair.

    Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

People telling you that its a bit keen/whatever are mad.

Make sure what you're suggesting is something you'd be involved with if you were working there though. (i.e. not a new way to process accounting information or something.)

Yes this was my reasoning, the position is a b2b sales role. And the report is on a company that I think could use our services. My job is to sell our product to businesses like the one in my report .

Im not trying to change anything, Just trying to show im a good fit for the role.

I would find that incredibly off-putting. But that is just me and I couldn't speak for everyone - it's a very Irish way of looking at it to be fair.

I agree, a friend of mine also said in ireland this may not fair so well.

I wouldn't, if you're using insider knowledge to discuss the processes of a third party they may think you'd do the same to them.

They may also not give you the job and use the information anyway.
