I started a job a couple of weeks ago and my first pay is due this week . I was offered another job and took that while doing that I could not finish my notice period with the other job apparently they take a 'back week ' out from your first pay check. Because I left before I even get my first pay check do I really loose a weeks pay from this so called ' back week ' or how does it work should I be paid for all the work I done

You should be paid for all the work you've done. If paid weekly you will receive the last of your pay the week after you finish up.
