Hi, thought I'd ask here, is it possible to sell the above here? Just bought a car and about to vrt it so the number will be lost. Told it's worth a few quid. Last 3 letters are a female name.

V5 not in my name, I'd need to have put it into someone's name in UK first, it's already marked as exported. Looks like its lost.

If it was worth anything significant you can guarantee it would have been transferred before the car was put up for sale.

And that's why valuable ones are removed before a trade or private sale! Most valuable historically was VIP 1 which was, IIRC, originally a Tipperary plate transferred over to GB as part of independence arrangements.

The ones that changed hands more recently would have obviously made more money. A1 was up for sale a few years ago and F1 is asking 10 million.

IP was Kilkenny on the old plates. Think Tipp was FI (or IF) up North end of hte county. Not sure of the South Riding.

Yep Kilkenny was IP, Tipperary North riding was FI, South Riding was HI. IF was Cork.

I think marcusm hit the nail on the head, if it was worth anything it wouldn't have been left on the car...
