call into your local VRT office, your NCT centre usually, explain the situation, the tractor needs a VRT inspection before they issue with a tax book/irish numberplate.
we had the same craic this last year getting registered tractor, UK tractors need i think it was a certificate of permanent export,
Anyway brought the tractor to NCT centre on way home, he checked serial numbers, make model etc etc
It was a good few weeks of back and forth before it got sorted!!!!

good luck with your new machine!

To be fair sometimes it does take a long time to get log books fgrom VOSA if there is any small issue but ring them direct to see if there has been any movement or if he has done anything with it.
10 weeks seems a long time though

We had a tractor 9 years before we VRT'd it. The auld fella kept chasing the dealer but no joy. Eventually he had to drive the tractor 40 miles to the most local VRT office to get it 'inspected'. He said a woman came out and she was heavily pregnant. She hopped up in the tractor and had a look around. Not sure what for. She told him he'd have to back tax it. Was coming to mad money. Near a grand I think. Probably right in hindsight. Typical of my auld fella and how stubborn he is he got off and just paid that year. Dealer's can be slow! Hopefully yours won't be that slow!!

Too late now but maybe a lesson for other people to hold back some of the money until paper work completed ?

I had same issue with northern dealer. He bought tractor is Wales. I bought it off him from lisnaskea. I was 14 months waiting for the log book. Cancelled 2 appointments with NCT to reg it.
Must register it soon now that I think of it
