    Hi all.
Just wondering would anyone know about ford's 1.8 diesel engine.
My problem with it now seems like when I take off or am.below the 2000 rpms the car is sluggish. It's an 09 smax. A bit smokey also from behind but as the garage man says that'll be grand. Now when the turbo cuts in it goes fine. But before that is just is gone sluggish.
    Any advice would be great.
    Thanks..

That sounds exactly like any Ford 1.8Tdci I've ever driven. Terrible chasm in the torque curve at low revs.

I never taught it was as bad as that. Is there anything a person can or could do to improve it
