Summoned to Court, Case not on the List, told by Solicitor to go home.

My Son was summoned to appear in Court to answer a Public Order charge. When his Case hadn't been called by lunchtime he asked his Solicitor what was happening. His Solicitor told him his Case wasn't on that day's Court List and that he could go home.
Has anybody posting here come across this scenario before and if so what was the outcome? Can my Son be summonsed again to appear on some future date?

Your son should ask his solicitor what happened and whether he is at risk of the matter proceeding.

But, in principle, yes, the matter can proceed. The charge hasn't been dismissed or otherwise dealt with. The case can be re-listed at a future date.
