    Hi,

I need to run fresh water pipe between the well and the house.
I've someone who'll dig the trench for me, it about a 80m run.

Looking for advice on laying the pipe, do I need to place it in a duct / wavin pipe. Or can I just place it in the trench. I'll also be running a length of swa cable in the trench if that makes a difference.

    MiCk B. :-)

For a domestic house 3/4 heavy gauge is fine to lay directly in the ground, get it down a meter at least to protect from frost, although I find the 3/4heavy gauge is great to resist freezing.

Obviously make sure no stones damage it while backfilling

3/4 minimum possibly 1 inch. I'd say for 80m so you limit any pressure drop on the length. You want full pressure and flow at the house.

Yes run 1" heavy gauge. The deeper the better. Not sure on the regs for depth on electrical cable. 1 metre for the pipe anyway. No harm running a couple of 2" ducts too while the ground is open if you ever need to run anything underground in future it'll be easy

    Hi,

Cheers for the info. I'll go with the 1inch pipe. It's a long enough run to the house.
