Door saddle varnish/stain recommendations please

Hi, Have to tidy up the door saddles on a coupla bedrooms. Current ones are scuffed but were dark brown stained. Would like to just know if anyone has found any particular preparation to be good and hardwearing. Hi,
Have to tidy up the door saddles on a coupla bedrooms.
Current ones are scuffed but were dark brown stained.

Would like to just know if anyone has found any particular preparation to be good and hardwearing.

Twould need to be dark as hallway is dark tiles and we are getting new (also dark) floor on Saturday. So I presume either a coloured varnish or a stain and varnish combo ..
