Help! What should I wear

Hi. I have been invited along to an afternoon tea at Áras an Uachtaráin. I will be part of a group going but don't really know anyone in my group! I am wondering what I should wear to such an afternoon. Do you think it would be formal or casual?

I was there for a garden party 2 years ago. Wore a nice summer dress like GingerLily suggested with a cardigan and pumps. All of the guests were invited to have their picture taken individually with Michael D in the reception room as they arrived, so don't go too casual.

This advice, a nice day dress and semi-heels would be my choice. Paired with a smart cardigan or jacket.
