    Hi,

Im looking at a very clear Skoda Octavia 131 that's an ex lease car but theres no service history.

The dealer is reputable and trustworthy but Im kind of reluctant to buy without a FSH (for resale purposes in a few years time).

It has been maintained and the price he's looking for is 10 k and that priced to sell. It has 110 k KM on the clock.

If I do get a few official services in the few years I want to keep the car would that count for something in the case of a resale.

Do you think it's a very good buy without the FSH

    Thanks.

I can't think of any good reason why a leased car wouldn't have a full service history. Something doesn't add up here.

Is it that there's no record, i.e stamps, in the service booklet or just no history at all? With the advent of electronic service histories many dealers now don't bother to fill out the booklet, but do record all activity on the online electronic version. I don't know if a Skoda dealer would be able or willing to tell you if the car has been serviced with them but it might be worth a try.

Most leased cars have a service package included in the leasing. Sounds like the documented service book is not with the car. I'd push the dealer in getting information from the leasing company that he bought it from. If there is any uncertainty then just move on as there are lots of 2013 Octavias for sale, cheap doesn't necessarily mean it's a bargain.
