Are children are so smart they are able to organize govt and rule us and they are the perfect choice as they are yet un-corrupted.

Dogs can talk but only in slang in an appropriate doggy type voice.

Being ill is such a novelty people 'do flu' at raves by injecting the virus into themselves. Much like the scientific advance in avoiding ergot poisoning randomly and then taking drugs with similar affects at raves.

Men have a MUCH MUCH more adverse reaction to this drug flu than women it is not known why.

There are no wars. As our head babies have ruled against it but in force daily naps on all of us. As well as a public breast feeding policy that would make you cringe.

I predict human beings will be extinct and the universe will continue floating around, possibly with some new or remaining life forms, but more probably only rocks and gasses.

Btw when I was nine I wrote an essay suggesting all people took a test at the age of 60 to decide if they were useful enough to be kept alive. Kids might be uncorrupted but they can still be pretty terrifying.

Fossil fuel supplies which took tens of millions of years to form will have long been used up and our descendants look back on us with a mixture of jealousy and disgust at us for having lived in such luxury with total disregard for their future. The laughable idea of non-fossil-fuel sources of energy being enough to keep everyone living in mild comfort has long been shown to be the joke it is.

Sorry Persephone but your view of the year 4000 is a little uninspiring. People injecting themselves with flu? Babies in charge? Talking dogs?

If I went forward in my time machine and that's all I saw I'd be rather disappointed. If (and it's a big IF) human society and technology continues to progress between now and then, there will be wonders undreamt of, things we cannot even conceive of now. In the same way that modern science and technology would be unfathomable to a person from the distant past. Except technology is moving at an exponential rate so the far future could be very very strange indeed.

Nonsense. Solar energy can power the world many times over, even with an increased population. We don't properly know how to harness it efficiently just yet, but in the future we most likely will. Far from looking back jealously at fossil-fuel use, future humans will likely see it as primitive, in the same way we see horse and carriage travel as primitive while we strap into our seat on an Airbus A330.

we will have the ability to live forever.
travel to other planets like we travel to London, USA etc
    No hunger
    No wars
    No religions
The ability to bring someone dead a long time back to life (pick me future person reading this)

Fascinating thinking about it all the same.

The Rolling Stones decide to call it a day.

The formula for fresh ice is discovered, freeing us from that intolerable frozen sh1te we had to put up with.

Mayo finish runners up in the GAA world cup final ,beaten by an own goal.
Antrim, a team made up of Orange men who refused to play because it was Sunday, take the title.

Einsteins theory that time is an illusion proves true, so we learn to manipulate it. Every Sunday, at the sound of the theme tune to Glenroe, time reverts to 5 p.m. Friday.

I'm not convinced. There have been many many highly-motivated, very intelligent people, over many years, dedicating their lives to trying to bring about clean cheap plentiful energy and it still contributes little to world supplies. Fossils fuels are a one-off boon that we are going to end up using up before any alternatives (again whose viability I am not convinced of) can be fully developed and put in place. Fossil fuels should be thought of as the scaffolding that allows the planet to support a large enough population to produce enough hard working geniuses to develop sustainable energy sources, if there is even a tiny chance it is possible. That it is possible is not something we should take for granted and comfort ourselves with. We should be trying to get the most out of our one-off boon by using way less fossil fuels and getting a few more centuries out of them to give our species time to defeat nature. Too many people live with a vague notion that "in the future" things will be all "futuristic" and people will have nuclear fusion or something - it's all well and good is getting to assume stuff like that while we get to enjoy the luxury of our "primitive" dense easily-available energy source.

2,000 years in galactic terms is nothing more than the blink of an eye. The light from the closest galaxy to ours has taken 2.5 million years just to reach us so nothing will much have changed in the universe by the year 4000.

I don't see humans being extinct either unless some major catastrophic event happens like being hit by a giant meteor or small black hole hurtling through our solar system which would effect the earths orbit around the sun.
