Looking for a recommendation as not all Nissan dealers are made equal.

Will travel within say a 30 mile radius of Leixlip.

I can't recommend H&M in blanch, D15. Just wasn't impressed with their service last time. Next service I will try Airside maybe or someone else.

    Would avoid Nissan Deansgrange

Here's a curve ball. Anyone out of warranty using an independent for some limited servicing? i.e. I know that given the specialist / new nature of an EV, most independents won't be equiped to service an EV. However, they may be capable of some limited stuff.

I never went near a main dealer when I drove an ICE (unless I was forced to - or was forced to buy parts off them).

Airside didn't impress me from a sales perspective. Went in to buy a Leaf, still waiting on their promised phone call a year later.

    What did they do wrong?
To be honest the Leaf service is just an inspection and change the cabin filter. Its actually a waste of money except its better to do it to maintain warranty.... so you are just paying for the stamp in the book really.

If you are out of warranty don't do any service except for a brake/suspension check which any mechanic can do if you are not comfortable doing it yourself.

After that check wipers, washer refill and cabin filter. There is nothing else to do.

Liffey Valley are not great either, they charged me €130 for the first service which should cost €100. They forgot to clean the car and then left scrapes on the bonnet from the power washer hose when they finally got around to it. They also forgot to stamp the service book. The 1 hour wait promised over the phone turned into a 3 hour farce.

Do NOT recommend Windsor Nissan Clonee either.
I went there on a recommendation and will not be back.

So.... has anyone got their Leaf serviced at a Nissan dealer they were happy with?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,639 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

I'd like to know, as I need to get the car serviced again next year and I don't know where I am going with it.

I wouldn't say I was happy handing over €110 for someone to look at the car and top up washer fluid but I was satisfied that I got what I was expecting! :)

They also gave a courtesy car (even though I didn't buy the Leaf from them) and I found them pleasant to deal with.

However, Im in Cork so no use to you guys!

I didn't receive a courtesy car, and was left hanging around in Clonee for 4 hours. Despite having booked a time online.
The car was washed badly on the outside and not valeted on the inside at all.
They did not change the wipers - or even check them.
All in all a bad customer experience and I will never go there again.

    Windsor Clonee.

What did they charge you for the pleasure?

On the wiper front. I asked whether they would change those. They said they would if required but it would be extra. I also asked about the brake fluid change and they said its not required every 2yrs. They tend to do it at about 60k km but again it would have been extra if they did do it.

The bad wash is sloppy alright.

As far as I remember it was 130 quid.
I wouldnt have minded paying a couple of quid for the wipers, it was just never mentioned. I also didnt receive the infamous "battery report" which a nissan dealer is meant to give you.

All in all, no courtesy car, 4 hours wait in the back hole of no-where with nothing to do, not even properly "serviced". Shoddy service and I won't be going back

I am watching the thread for a positive experience with a nissan dealer anywhere in Leinster that i can go to.

Good point. I didn't get that either and I asked and they hadn't a clue what I was talking about. I didn't really care anyway, its a useless report. LeafSpy tells me more than that report ever will.

I assume you are all accessing Main stealer dealer servicing to maintain the warranty?

Other than a warranty issue, I have not been near a main dealer and if I can help it, I'll be keeping it that way - either do small bits myself or try and find an independent to do same.

Agreed, but it was just another thing that they are supposed to do but didnt.

Yes, it is to maintain warranty and to have a full book of services if I try to trade in the car later.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

And not to forget having the best base for a goodwill repair outside of warranty. A good few BMW 4 cylinder diesel owners avoided a several thousand bill that way...

Where was that? Do you recommend the garage (if it was main dealer)

got a major service done on the Leaf, 130 for the basic service, plus another 100 for the pollen filter and changed of the brake fluid

That sounds expensive? What did they do for the €130?

Are the brakes weird like in a Prius?

As in, if you change the pads, does the computer need to be reset or whatever?

Brake system differs from the Prius which differs from an ICE, but a fluid change is a fluid change. Every 2 years in the Leaf seems excessive, presumably they're trying to make up for lost revenue on other service items like oil, filters, and plugs.
