    Hi everybody,
if everything goes according to my plans, I should have a small campervan (well, sort of) available soon for camping.
I would really like to bring my dogs with me.
I reckon that Spain might be too far.. so I am thinking to France (don't really want to do UK).
I think for travelling I'd prefer the Eurotunnel, even if it's a long drive, not sure yet.
But I am considering everything at the moment.
Someone has experience about camping with dogs in France?
I would love a place with space to exercise them off lead, even better if on the beach :P
I am reading and browsing but I thought to ask here as well!
    thanks!

Sorry, I can't recommend any campsite, but we got the ferry from Rosslare to Cherbourg last year, and the beach in Cherbourg is a great place for dogs to have a good run after and before a ferry crossing.

If you are on FB, there is a group called Canine Campers, and you may get recommendations on that. Most of the members are in the UK, but that doesn't matter if you are going to the continent :)

I don't know what season it was when you went, Muddypaws, but I think beaches are often off limits to dogs in the high season. Sometimes only from 9 or 10 am - 7 pm and it's ok outside that, but still, worth the OP keeping that possibility in mind.

My friend (doesn't have a dog) camps in France most years and said that every campsite they've stayed in has been dog friendly. Have you been camping with them before? If it was me I think I'd stick closer to home the first few times to iron out any problems and get into the swing of things.

Having just done a camping trip in Ireland with the dog is advise to try this first. Our dog wasn't a fan at all, we planned on going for a week but the dog really didn't enjoy it, I think she's too used to home comforts. Also it'll give you a chance go iron out any major issues and minor before you head a bit further out

    Thank you!
Yes I will try Ireland first.. as I want to test the solution :)
My dogs are easy going but of course I want to be sure they are comfortable!

Regarding beaches and high season that's what I was worrying :/

I might try to find places on a lake or river.. because they love swimming and if it's a bit too warm I guess it might help

I bring my 2 dogs on holidays to France every year. We don't go camping but rent a small house or appartment usually. The French love dogs and allow them everywhere almost so i'd imagine campsites are not a problem.

We've stayed in hotels with ours in France too, you'll have a great time.
