2010 Volvo s40 2.0 diesel, Eolys top up

Got an "Engine System Service Required" message on the car, brought it to the mechanic who plugged it in giving me error code 2585.
From what I can see it refers to the Eolys needing to be topped up. On top of this the counter will need to be reset for the additive module, needing to be done through Vida(maybe the mechanic has this, ill have to find out)

Anyone any experience of this? Im looking at about £100 for the Eolys kit on ebay, cheaper may be available especially if I dont need to get the Volvo branded one.
Im thinking it might be one of the jobs best left to the main dealer due to the systems counter needing to be reset.

Any advice on the process/Eolys kits, dealers or third party mechanics in the Kildare/Dublin are that you'd recommend for it?

Most independent garages should be able to reset the counter. You don't need dealer software to do it.

Genuine Volvo fluid and fill kit is 72 +VAT over the counter at your Volvo dealer...
A decent diagnostic system can reset the level.

    Is that not per litre?

Talking to Volvo today got a price of €90 Inc vat for the liquid or about €180 to get them to do it. He didn't say how much it was volume wise other than being a full dose.

1.89 Litre bottle is in the refill kit, which also contains all the required pipes etc. for gravity fill.
9 out of 10 times it is enough for a full refill if you do it at the 1st warning.
