According to the theorytest.ie website there are no appointments in Dublin for 4 weeks? Is this normal or if you ring can you get a better appointment.

    Thanks.

Were you born in 1982 (crunching the numbers here)? Do you drive a car? Did you take a theory test between 2001 and the middle of 2006 for the car?

If you can answer yes to the above, you may not need a bike theory test at all.

I was under the impression you had to sit a theory test for a bike regardless......??

Basically, the first iteration of the theory test covered cars, bikes, mopeds and tractors. If you sat this theory test back then and you've maintained your driving record since, that theory test would still be valid today and you would be free to get a motorcycle learner permit in exactly the same was as if you wanted to the car+trailer learner permit, you wouldn't need to resit the theory test. After 2006 they broke the theory test into seperate car and bike tests.
