    Hi,

Jumping back into golf recently after many years out. Does anyone have a good luck for a reasonably priced club set? I have been looking at the Wilson Ultra 2017 or Callaway Strata sets?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Cheers.

I would go secondhand, you will get a much better quality set for the same price as one of those box sets. I'd also spend as little as possible on the clubs and maybe a few lessons before buying. The pro will be able to give good advice on clubs to buy.

Yeah, as Senna says, a good second-hand set would be far better value than those Wilsons. A lot of the time you'll get them with new grips. Even if you don't, you could get them regripped from about €5 a club depending on the grip.

Here's a set of Taylormade irons from about 2012/2013 starting at £90 on ebay. Lots more like that and even cheaper.

Thank you both for the help and info. Will focus on a good second-hand set and build from that.
    Cheers again!

Personally I'd steer clear of ebay, don't know what you're getting. Used golfbidder to buy and sell and found them very good.

I bought a set of irons on eBay a good few years ago. Still have them, my son uses them now. Nothing wrong with them at all and had plenty of photos to judge their condition by. I also bought a gap wedge and lob wedge for my current set on eBay. Couldn't get them anywhere else (including golfbidder). Very happy with how they turned out.

You get an indication on golfbidder, but usually not the number of photos you can see on eBay. Also prices can be a lot higher.

eBay is grand as long as you use your head. If you are going to spend 100's on something you need to make sure you know what you're buying.
If you buy a SC putter for €50, you have nobody to blame buy yourself when it turns out to be fake.

In the OP case, I wouldnt be too worry, don't spend much and whatever you get will be fine to get you started in the game
