Booked flights with Etravel - Help please

    Hi,

I recently booked flights with Etravel (I came across them through skyscanner) and I have a few questions that i can't find the answers to on their website.

My journey to Los Angeles consisted of flying to LAX via Philadelphia.
On the way home, I'm flying from LAX to Shannon via Heathrow.

I booked the flights through Etravel. All flights have British Airways flight numbers. But both of my flights on the way to LAX are operated by American Airlines. On the way home my flights are operated by British Airways and Aerlingus.

This is my first time booking flights to America and through a travel agent.

I'm wondering what do I need to do now? Do i wait for Etravel to email me on directions closer to the flights? Or do i have to go to all the different airlines websites and enter API information for each? Or will it suffice to just input API information on British Airways website as its their flight numbers for all flights?

Can i check in online or do i have to do it at the airport because i booked through a travel agent?

I'm very confused and I really really appreciate any help.

    Thank you in advance,
    James

That's fine, it's called codesharing. Just treat the whole trip as if you're flying BA all the way meaning that when you have to go to a desk to check-in, do it with BA. Where you're actually flying with a different airline, the departure boards in the various airports will show both the BA code and the actual airline code e.g. EI1234 and BA5678 for the same flight.

Yes. As above, act as if BA is flying you for all of the legs.

If you get the booking reference number from the travel agent, you will be able to check-in on the BA website.

That's not right. You always check-in with whatever airline you are flying with first. There aren't any BA desks at Shannon as they don't fly from there.

Yep, for example when flying with Aer Lingus from Amsterdam to Cork/Dublin you checked in online with KLM using the E-Ticket and KLM Flight number even if you booked directly with Aer Lingus.

Then flying Dublin/Cork - Amsterdam you check in online with Aer Lingus.

You don't have to do anything, check in at the American desk on the day of your flight, they will input the ati and assign you your ticket. Just be there at least 2 hours before departure in Dublin/lax and 75 minutes before departure in shannon

On long haul you don't have to check in online if you don't want to. Sometimes then the Aer Lingus agent will give you all the boarding passes or sometimes you might need to get it from the transfer desk at the next airport.

You don't have to check-in online for short-haul flights either (except Ryanair, easyJet, Wizz Air).

Sorry for stating the obvious but why not contact e-travel and ask them all of your queries. This is one of the main benefits of using a travel agent in that you have a single point of contact for all of these queries and they will not be any questions that they won't deal with on a daily basis.
