I switched to energia using bonkers.ie and, in short they are billing me at higher rates than I contracted for so check the bills if you switch or go from a 24 hr meter to a dual.
Keep well and happy e-motoring, even if not driving a LEAF:D

What was their attitude like when you raised it with them? Switched a while back but no bill yet? Dud they put you on correct rate?

They seem to have the 33% rate directly through their own website now also I noticed yesterday.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Moral of the story: always check your bills. All of them make mistakes all of the time.

I switched to Airtricity last year. Nightmare. At one point they said they texted me to say they'd put me on level pay at 750 euro per month! (I never asked for level pay and our consumption is low... 75 euro per bill is typical). A friend was with Bord Gais for a while and had similarly bad experience. In both cases threatening to call the regulator sorted the problems.

Bottom line is you need to keep track of your own meter readings and work out your own bills, because since deregulation there is a disconnect between the meter readers (all ESBN) and the supply company.

I also switched using bonkers to energia

When you factor back the way they structure the discount , the rates are as per the bonkers offer
The rate stated on the bill IS higher then bonkets so you need to factor in the discount

Yep, thats what they told me so I have lodged a complaint with the Regulatory as this arrangement is complete %ollo% in a consumer market.

Hogmanay folk know how to do this math, given that they don know what change to give when you tender a fiver for six quids worth of gear:D

The discount rate is not shown IIRC so that could make it 32.98% and gouge everyone, on the qt

    hang on

if you apply the discount proportionally to the day and night units rate , you will see that it corresponds to the Bonkers advertised rates

    whats the issue

Regulator will only listen to you when you've exhausted all options with your provider without getting a satisfactory outcome.

Same here. I also got ready to freak when I looked at the rate on my first bill but then saw the discount figure at the bottom. :D
