Has anybody done this in the past?  Had the UK skoda dealers any problems about you buying the car in the UK to import it to Ireland?
Just wondering as MB dealers have a policy about not allowing to sell MB to export into Ireland.
What is the normal method used to pay the balance on the car? Bank draft?

well then its simple as long as its more than 6 months old and more than 6K Klms you just pay VRT go here and enter car details to get estimate of VRT

    https://www.ros.ie/evrt-enquiry/vrtenquiry.html?execution=e1s1

As regards Funds you have options Bank Draft as you say also Bank Transfer if its a main dealer you could pretransfer on condition of refund if car not bought

Need to be careful transferring on day as most irish Banks have limit on Daily transfer

Also there are Transfer services available

Are you likely to save much money? Irish 2016 Superbs are cheaper than you'd expect.

Other manufacturers do that called them about, I presume Skoda should be no different, but would confirm before buying.

Skoda dealer in the uk. Do they have any policies against this like MB?

30k landed and VRT vs 37K for the same spec/model here.

The will honour the first 24 months from date of first reg, nothing after that.

Don't think that works either these days as reg number changes?

I've used a NI VW dealer for warranty work on a car imported from the UK. It was back in 2013 and gave them car's VIN or the old UK reg from the logbook.

So you imported the car from the UK, then you brought it back into the uk (NI dealership) to have it serviced under warranty, is that what you're saying? Interesting.

Not serviced, I had it repaired under warranty in the North as VW Ireland wouldn't cover the 3rd year of the UK warranty at the time down here. The car needed a new gearbox, flywheel and clutch.

Just wondering if you went ahead with the import and how it worked out for you? Thinking of doing the same but not sure whether to go to the UK or Northern ireland
