    Mediation and Adjudication

    Pros and cons

Sent complaint to WRC for Adjudication.
    Employer request Mediation.

    What is my best route?
Attend mediation and if not agreeable refer to adjudication.
Or cut to the chase refuse mediation and press on with adjudication.
I do not feel able to return to work due to the stress and distress caused by employer.

Would it look good for the employer to offer mediation with an independent mediator, and look bad for you to have rejected it? As far as I am aware from the few HR lectures I have attended, the WRC do not look favourably on parties who have rejected avenues to resolve the conflict or not followed the grievance procedure through to the end.
