  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,117 ✭✭✭✭Junkyard Tom

It's a smear campaign and it's not because they care about the IRA (they wouldn't have kept the troubles going for three decades if they did) it's that they fear the British public reversing the upward distribution of wealth to the 1%.

those groups did not bomb london in the past, the ira carried out attacks and the comments are simply comparing them to the current attacks in the vein of we survived those and we will survive this.

In relatively free societies you can't murder or lock up 'dissidents' so you need to use propaganda.

    Check this out.

Na it's because they're running out of ideas on how to halt the rise of the 'unelectable' Corbyn, or more accurately the policies he advocates. Don't take it personally.

Exactly. It turns out that repeating the 'Corbyn is unelectable' mantra over and over again doesn't cut it with the electorate. It didn't work during the Labour leadership campaign in 2015, it definitely didn't work when they tried to oust him in 2016 - and it sure as hell doesn't seem to be working in 2017. Why, it's almost as if he's electable. The Tories and the Tory media (which is almost all of the media) are crapping themselves, and all they can do now is hurl as much crap at Corbyn as possible, in the hope that some of it sticks.

They want the Tories back in.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Well at least this thread delivered a laugh.

All the earnest replies from posters taking you seriously and tut tutting about the media, the election, the treatment of the Irish...and then you make your "must be the Muslim cameramen" point...

Isn't that the only reason people watch Sky news these days? To be outraged?

Job done. You got what you paid for. Should be happy.

There is a Conspiracy Theories forum on boards for that type of discussion.

And for the sake of us all, can you please stop repeating the same thing over and over and try add something new to the discussion.

I'd also maybe suggest changing your news sources.

The solution here is to stop watching British TV

just turn it off, watch something on Netflix.

Defense Department Typo Results In U.S. Attack On Ira
The U.S. Defense Department apologized to Skokie, IL, dentist Ira Nussbaum Tuesday following a bombing campaign aimed at removing the 37-year-old from power.

    ...

This marks the first military action taken against Nussbaum since a malfunctioning shift key prompted Ulster Unionists to detonate his Ford Taurus in 1998.

BBC is just State-funded Sky News.

There are dozens of news sources out there that are not British - CNN, RT, Al-Jazeera to name but a few - and with the internet, you have access to them all, so there is no excuse for whinging on about news sources and then continuing to watch them.

It's like voting Tory/Republican, then whinging abotu service cuts ad then voting for the same stupid ****s again!

But the thing about the IRA was rightly or wrongly, they were retaliating against UK brutality and oppression. The British army/RUC and their UDA collaborators were every bit as brutal as the IRA. Both sides targeted and killed civilians.
Neither side were hearing voices in their head telling them to do it. Both had a specific aim.

No, They want a Sunni run world devoted to the principles of the Quran by battling the "Kaffirs" in western society into annihilation.

Judging by the demographics of those who carry out such acts, I think they just want to murder people and have an awful lot in common with US school shooters.

And the IRA wanted & united Ireland by violent means .... 'Brits out' ..... all one million of them.

Not sure all the bombs & bullets brought the two sides (Nationalist & Unionist) any closer together though.

Anyway, the reason the IRA has been mentioned a lot recently in the media is because the last time atrocities of this scale were carried out it was by the PIRA / INLA.

    No, quite wrong.

The British and Americans and elements of the west have been carrying out atrocities in the world during, and since our own conflict/war.

That, like our own conflict/war did, is now coming back to bite them.

Yes, since Britain realised it was wrong and had not done things they regret here.

The IRA, the Irish never had suicide bombers like Manchester arena ? what happened in London attack the IRA, Irish never went a rampage hacking people to death? The Irish, IRA thing has being very excessive in BBC news, & SKY news, in the last two weeks and it is being used in `two-fronts on what the Muslims attacks did the Irish , IRA are being talked about in the same light?. And then you have the UK General Election Irish, IRA being dragged up for the 1970s ?.
