What is the best site for selling cars online? I am using Done deal and finding it is full of messers - people offering to swap for a Mars bar etc.

donedeal is definetly yhr best, tons of traffic, if your gettign messsers that not really their fault. I found adverts to be pretty much rubish, first person to knock your price and your advert is ruined,. At least donedeal no one else can see what everyone else is offering. Just mark your add as no texts/emails and this will cut most out most of the messers

Carzone used to be good but really lost track of the times

Sure does, I think Done Deal is taking the same path now. So many texts and calls from pure messers

I prefer adverts as it let me ask questions etc on the site.

Both sites are full of chancers, it's not the site's fault some people are eejits.

As said above, its not donedeals fault, its just got a lot of traffic and with a lot of traffic you get a lot of idiots.
When I was selling my Subaru, I had some amount of delusional people. At one point, I got sock of it and wrote a note at the end: "Dont bother offering me 5k ( it was up for 6k ), as you wont get it for that much, I am not hungry."
In the next few days sold to a very nice fella, who pretty much threw money at me after he sow the car.

Any medium that is popular with the masses will attract clowns and time wasters. It's part and parcel of buying and selling stuff to the public unfortunately.

Very true. I last sold a car 3 years ago and didn't seem to have this much hassle. Fingers crossed she is sold soon. It doesn't seem to matter what you put on the ad, no swaps, cash only etc :p

Yep, I put "no texts please" in a car advert before and still got them asking me what was my bottom price. Just didn't bother replying.

Ya I've had a few of those texts and emails about my best price. I ignore them now. If people are genuinely interested they will come and see the car.

Hate that "best price" especially on adverts ,your supposed to make a offer!

You just need to know how to deal them, don't reply to any text asking best price or the "will you take a Zanussi dryer with cash your way for your Corolla" merchants. If your ad is properly done and have good photos the only person interested in your car is someone who will come to look at it.

I've sold on our two cars in the last 6-9months, had on Donedeal, Carzone and Adverts as well as the local paper. Had nothing from Carzone/Adverts/paper, all enquiries and both sales came from Donedeal.

Depends on the value. Hit DoneDeal, CBG.ie (free for private sellers) and put some traffic on Facebook.

    And get a disposable sim...
