Anyone any idea do Aer Lingus drop flight prices nearer the time? I am looking at end of September begining of October for Faro.

They may well have a seat sale for end Sept, but you wouldn't be guaranteed much value, tbh. Flexibility is the key in terms of travel dates. You'll save money if you can travel midweek usually.

Have you checked Ryanair? They also fly to Faro and to be honest, it's much of a muchness in terms of service etc between them nowadays.

try skyscanner and search over the entire month, and they show up the cheapest dates to travel from all airlines.
You can get a return midweek for barely over 100Euro if you're flexible.
If you're not, and you HAVE to travel at the weekend, along with many others on what must now be fairly full planes, then you'll pay the price.
It might go down a little but theres a reason some dates are 100 and some 3x the price, and its called demand.

Try www.farecompare.com to get the lowest price it's expected to be based on previous years, will give you a benchmark to be trying to get the flights for. I've found it accurate in the past. At a guess I would say within 3 months of October the prices should start fluctuating until the flight is full.

I second this. Great site, and very accurate. You have to wait it out and not lose your nerve. The price always drops to what they say it will.
    Airhint is good too.
