In theory they are not suppose to take them but depending on the cashier they might accept them.

Why not use them where they're intended to be used rather than go trying to scrape a couple of quid off Tesco thinking you're pulling a fast one like a cheapskate.

Jeez, Mr M & S. Who got out of the wrong side off the bed today? Pot, kettle, black - why are you lurking on this thread if you are not looking for a bargain?? Don't think Tescos is going to go bankrupt because of a €5 voucher :P

Tesco never take multiply reprintable vouchers for anyone, even before you get to M&S not being on the accepted list

Not lurking, reading through threads. No, they're not going to go bankrupt, but if a company issues a coupon, it's because they want your business. Using it elsewhere is just being cheap.

What am I missing here? Why would Tesco or any other shop take a voucher for M&S?

I think we're descending into Monty Python territory here... I burn all coupons I receive to keep me warm, that's how cheap I am.

Has it ever crossed your mind that there mightn't be an M&S foodhall near the poster? Or that the products they are in need of this week are available in Tesco but not M&S?
If M&S want my business, thanks for the voucher, now put a few damn foodhalls in a place I can access easily.

It's almost as if we exist in a competitive market place, and people on the Bargain Alerts thread are trying to take advantage of that competition.
So welcome to Bargain Alerts, we're cheap and we're proud.

Yeah... You're not getting it. I'm not going to go to the bother of explaining it either, if you can't work it out for yourselves, that's your issue, not mine. For what it's worth, I'm not against coupons, use them all the time, but I don't wet myself thinking I can shave a couple of quid off my shopping by using a competitors coupon elsewhere. That's being a cheapskate.

Frankly, "Baragin Alerts" is a bizarre forum is which to make a stand on that argument.

Some people might say that using any coupon makes you a cheapskate... and it wouldn't matter how many times they bothered to explain themseves, I wouldn't get that argument either.

So imagine your response if someone called you a cheapskate for using a coupon, or a "match competitor quote" offer... and that's my response to your helpful "cheapskate" remark.
