    Hi

I have an Indesit washing machine - yesterday there was a burning smell when using it, this morning it has no power and will not switch on.

Any idea what the problem may be ? Thanks

it could be a number of things but most likely a burnt out motor or pump, check if there is power in the socket by plugging something else in, and if there is then its likely that the 13amp fuse in the plug has blown,if there is no power in the socket then a circuit breaker or fuse in the fuse board has probably blown and you need to unplug the machine before replacing/resetting that, either way I wouldn't mess about with it, you need to call an engineer, How old is the machine and was it an expensive model as it might not be worth getting it fixed. you can get a cheap machine for approx €200, calling out an engineer could cost €60 - €100 just to find out what is wrong with it.
