Non traditional wedding dress?

Any suggestions? I don't want the gown type dress. I'd like something simple but elegant and preferably either just below the knee or calf length. Don't want full length. I don't know if any point in going to a bridal shop as such unless there is a shop that caters for the less bride -ish dress. If that makes ANY sense. I'm even considering not going with white at all but would consider bridal colours if the dress was right. Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Lindybop.co.uk have a cute "bridal" section.. 50s style tea length dresses in whites or ivorys.. try asos also they have super pretty bridal range in all styles and colours.. Folkster would be a bit pricier but wouldn't be overly "gown-y".. if i think of more ill post them :-)

Padanee bridal in Carrick-on -Shannon carry a gorgeous range of tea length dresses! But not sure about pricing!

This may not be what you are looking for but my wedding dress was from a range of bridesmaid dresses that I ordered in ivory. You can order those dresses in lots of different colours so one of the colours is ivory. The dress was nothing as fancy as a wedding dress but was just what I was looking for. Bridal shops stock samples of bridesmaid dresses just as they do with wedding dresses. Best of luck with finding a dress!

At a glance, like the look of these. It's an option thanks. Also like that crochet / lace can be worn over different colour slips to change the dress for future wear. Thanks!

Hi..
I never visited a bridal shop, i definitely did not want a 'wedding dress'..
As pp mentioned i saw some gorgeous bridesmaid dresses and folkster have stunning stuff, i also like phase eight and found house of fraser good. But a few days before my wedding(!) i went to brown thomas and got a top and skirt from needle and thread (also on asos).. i was so thrilled with what i got and got lots of compliments.. hope you find the perfect one for you ;-)

If you'd be interested in buying online, I love the Chi Chi line from Asos- they have some gorgeous dressed that could definitely work as an unusual bridal choice.

Chichi have their own website, they're not an Asos brand - think they're actually stocked in Pamela Scotts and a few other places too. They have a much wider selection on their own website than what shows up on Asos.
