C.V. references/ current employer

    Hi all,

Just a quick one. Going back years, i've always added the contact details (name, mobile and business address) of my references to the end of my C.V.

THE last interview i went for called my (then) current employer to verify the details on my C.V. without asking me first. They subsequently hired me, so that was good, but until i got a call from them offering me the job, it was a little tense with my existing employer as you can imagine when they found out i wasn't at the dentist that afternoon.

Now, I didn't have my then employer listed as a reference, but i did have them down in my employment history as my current employer and from there they must have looked up my current employers details and contacted my manager, ref: me.

I am now applying for anther job that i think i stand a chance of getting to the interview stages with, obviously i want to showcase as much as i can on my C.V. but i am a little cagey given these past experiences as to what i can ad to my current employment and references.

Is it acceptable to leave the references section on your C.V. to say no more than "References available for working history available on request" and leave it at that as i'd now like to have some degree of control over who contacts who or would something like this appear too "cockey"? is there any other suitable alternatives?

    Thanks,
    TFB.

Don't supply the details of anyone you'd rather they didn't contact.

It's acceptable to have "referees on request", that way your not caught out.
