Which version of the Ballyfermot roundabout redesign did they sign up to or is it as per the original drawings

That ballyfermot says no Facebook group is only about 20 people actively posting and there's some serious mental illness on display, if that's the pressure that the NTA is caving in for then we might aswell pack the whole thing in. There's people on there literally in tears over a roundabout and there's people threatening violence over '15 minute cities'. People talking about their ma's funeral procession going around the roundabout in 1970 (and therfore it should never change). The HSE needs to step in here.

I thought a contract was signed for a different version

    Compare P14

    https://liffeyvalleyscheme.ie/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2025/07/A1-General-Arrangement-Drawings-Liffey-Valley-30.07.2025-WEB.pdf

and what ABP approved = again P14. PDFs take ages to load because of the detail

    https://liffeyvalleyscheme.ie/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2022/07/03.-General-Arrangement-Drawings-1.pdf

Surely building different to ABP leaves it open to appeal

Still can't see any benefit to the inbound ban on Grattan Crescent , all the crowding at Grattan crescent is because of traffic Sarsfield Rd→Grattan Crescent→Emmet Road to try and get into town in the mornings, and not the reverse. That bus lane will be completely ignored (just as it currently is ) . It just pushes the main inbound Naas Rd traffic onto the Emmet Rd/South Circular Rd

Sure Go-Ahead is the Dublin Bus training school

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,213 ✭✭✭trellheim

I had this vision of really narrow buses until I got the context of the sentence

Just curious, how will route 73 differ from 123, and also is it true that 122 will be rerouted and be given a timetable change because of it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 19,048 ✭✭✭✭LXFlyer

The 73 will route via the Quays and Gardiner Street between Christchurch and Summerhill, rather than Dame St., College Green and O’Connell Street.

The 73 is supposed to use the current 122 routing via Mourne Road in Drimnagh with the 122 replacement using Galtymore Road. Whether that particular change happens in this phase we have yet to see, but if it does then yes the 122 will be re-routed in Drimnagh.

Anyone any update on the B Spine judgement? Is there anywhere you can look for these judgements?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 447 ✭✭PlatformNine

Just to clarify, the judicidal reveiw isn't about the B-Spine itself, but Core Bus Corridor Blanchardstown which is the infrastructure the B-spine will use. If they had the resources (drivers and buses mainly) they could implement the B-spine tomorrow, there isn't any legal issues with the network changes as far as I know. There hasn't been any update yet but a decision is due in early October, here is the case if you are curious: https://services.courts.ie/high-court-search?caseRecordId=H.JR.2024.0001052 .

Also in case you or anyone reading this is wondering, this isn't actually causing delays to it's delivery. The NTA only plans on constructing 4 corridors to reduce the amount of disruption at any one given time.

You can find updates on the planning information for many projects (not just BC) in the thread below over on the Infrastructure forum.

JR originated 15 Aug 2024, JR planned decision delivery 07 October , estimated ~14 months end to end. As P9 says B spine could crack on tomorrow if they had the resources .

I live on the 39a route and in my view it should be the next for delivery but the NTA one-armed bandit slot machine RNG that decides which routes to launch came up with a different letter to launch next rather than the B spine.

It Probably won't matter much as the NTA might just build a different watered dowm scheme that has no bus priority at the major pinch points like old cabra road and stoneybatter anyway.

I saw a good number of Go-Ahead training buses this morning around Walkinstown, Crumlin and Drimnagh (not on the main S4 route). I've seen a bus on Mourne Road before too so I'd imagine the 73 will follow its planned route from the start.

Can someone enlighten me about the JR above…??

Why is some Coal company from another country allowed to object to an Infrastructure project in Dublin ?

What grounds are they sighting anyway? Are they like one of these objectors that Prime-Time uncovered some time ago that look for "Go-away" money?

No wonder the BC project is years behind.

They own an automated petrol station, which they reopened (it had been shut for decades) *after* these proposals surfaced

It will presumably see a drop in trade when traffic is made one way, but it's also seeing a drop in trade naturally as vehicles go EV, so they're in a failing business regardless

That said the Circle K just down the road has just added a bunch of chargers , so things evolve

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,864 ✭✭✭✭L1011

Charger site lessors (not the operators) make their money from selling food and drink to the people there for 15-30 minutes, the Go station in Cabra hasn't even got a vending machine!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,213 ✭✭✭trellheim

I live less than 100 yards from it, I know ! Thats not to say if they put in a charger they wont get business

An automated service station with a charger wont be as good a business model. There are no food or coffee services so people can't just kill some time while their car is charging. They literally would have to sit and wait.

I've been seeing some of Go-Ahead Ireland's training buses doing runs around my part of Dublin over the past week or two. The most recent sighting outside my house in Blackrock was around 8:45pm. The training bus was out driving part of the S8 route to Dun Laoghaire. It's very unusual for me to see training buses at that hour of the night.

I never see the Dublin Bus training fleet out that late at night. I usually see the Dublin Bus red & white training fleet out for runs in the morning & afternoon periods.

Are Go Ahead putting out these to train drivers for their new depots in Northwest Business Park & North Wicklow or are they keeping them for their depot in Ballymount?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 152 ✭✭AX636

DB trainers are out till at least 2200 at night

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30 SaxySaxSolo

Why when there is unplanned disruption to rail or tram services are tickets only valid on Dublin bus but not also Go Ahead services?

"Busconnects" Not very connecting if your replacement journey requires multi bus connections on both providers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6 senorsmoke

they are valid on go ahead services where applicable. Always have been

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 965 ✭✭✭d51984

Training is now up to 11pm for Go ahead, that includes ISM in Finglas. If it was a go ahead training bus you seen, its new drivers learning to drive or drivers that have passed their tests doing a final sign off with a ADI before route learning. Route learning is been done now in a normal service bus with a bunch of new drivers or sometimes a new driver is sent out as a tag on with an in service bus.

The latest now is March for the new Blanch depo.

    Its a disgrace Joe!

I see some Bus Eireann buses that have been repainted in to the new TFI livery have also been refurbished inside, including getting the new TFI moquette. Be interesting to see if any SG type buses get this treatment.
