I have a calf with bloat that keeps recurring. Third day in a row relieving gas with tube. Doesn't seem in much discomfort. He's grazing away and picking at straw. Is there anything I can do without piercing is side.

We only had it bad once, put calf in shed on straw and water for a few days and was ok after, is the grass very soft growth ?

They are on good grass but wouldn't call it lush. Calf is 4 months old

Mix linseed oil with the ration.

Bottle about a pint of cooking oil into him, the kind you would fry your chips in, that will neutralize the froth in his stomach thats causing the bloat.

Give 3 or 4 cc of penstrep.it deadens the bacteria in the stomach for a while
