    Hi,

As the title says I have a 2010 ford focus and I am exploring the idea of installing cruise control.

I have searched the Internet and have found a lot of kits to do this.

My issue is finding someone in Ireland to do it. Are there any garages that will do this? Or even boardsies?

    Thanks for the help.

Check with dealers here and in the north to get quotes.
I think this Kildare guy fits them
    Carlow company http://evolutionsounds.ie/cruise-control/
    Galway company http://autolux.ie/

I don't know or vouch for any above. I don't know prices.

    I can vouch for http://evolutionsounds.ie/cruise-control/

Stephen Gillespie is the owner, and his work is first class.

Check out some of his installs on FB:

I can't say for your car specifically, but it may be an easy DIY job - the wiring could be there already, and you might just have to install the stalk, though it may also need enabling via the OBD-II port (possibly with Ford-specific software). You'll probably get better information on Ford enthusiast forums.

    Thanks everyone who replied.

I contacted evolution as mentioned above. 600 euro all in seems a little pricey so I will call main dealers and compare it to that.

I doubt I'd have the DIY skills to attempt it tbh. Wouldn't feel safe

How do people think this will effect the resale value ??
It is a completly hidden job as in a perspective buyer wouldn't know.

I'll say if I knew I wouldn't be buying a car with aftermarket cruise control

With any modern car, it usually is a case of fitting OEM parts (controls, brake pedal switch, and any wiring if not already present), then just enabling it with software - if done properly there would be no way of telling it was not factory/dealer fitted unless you were able to obtain that car's original configuration, or knew it was never available on that trim level or whatever.

I don't think it will affect resale value. Certainly won't make it worth more - extras generally make no significant difference.
