Thoughts on shuttle bus to / from venue?

Anyone have experience of this? Or what to expect to pay? Our venue is a few miles out of town and thus from accommodation. We like the idea of providing some sort of shuttle bus either to or from. I understand that the average price per person in a minibus would be about €10/ rtn. We were toying with covering it for one trip, maybe getting people home or subsidising both trips ( as not everyone will use twice with ample parking to drive and leave car). Or would we be better to try hire a bus for the night E.g from 7pm-2am where we pay a lump sum and he does a few runs? For example, when people hire a bus for the day, it might cost €500 total rather than pricing individual runs. Has anyone any advice?

Hey Kate, my sister did this for her wedding, her situation was the same as yours. Rural country house with only enough bedrooms for the parents and bridal parties. So they laid on a minibus for guests and it worked out great. They had the company do two runs between the venue and the nearest large town. They scheduled one for around midnight and one for half two-ish. The first bus had little uptake, the second was jammers. The company didn't care though, they got paid for both! I can find out the cost for you.
