If you intend to use it as a standard taxi with meter etc, then no. Only 2012 models will pass. Remember it can only be used as a taxi till it is 9 years old.

If you intend to use it as a limousine any year will do with no age restriction.

It will pass as a chauffeur car but keep in mind the boot is still very small and you only get a space saver spare with no room for a full size wheel.

Would the gs 300 be more practical as in boot space.
Not too fussed about fuel consumption as Lexus reliability will offset fuel expense.
Not interested in a German car if that vintage as they give too much problems and me been a chauffeur I need to be in the road all a lot.

Really like the gs450h bootspace could be a problem though, but as I'm not a taxi driver I wouldn't be doing to many family holiday runs to the airport.

I suggest you consider a Volvo S80 of the same vintage

The GS 300 takes a full size spare though!

They are good value at the moment op!

The GS300 has a bigger deeper boot than the GS450H as there are no hybrid batteries in the GS300. OP, what about the LS460?

Whilst the 450h is no Prius re.juice the ls460 would just be insane on juice.
    Awesome car all the same.

GS450h is as economical as GS300. It has far more poke, but economy is the same.

Wow nice car. Not in my budget currently.
Will see how the gs450h goes like the idea of a chauffeur driven hybrid very popular in London.

Cool. The 300 might be better for me because of the bootspace in the 450h.
What's your gs 300 like on juice.
Any issues with them which I seriously doubt?
    Cheers

Mine does 28 MPG on short trips doing the school or shop run but can manage 35 MPG doing Cork to Dublin at a steady 130 KPH!

No issues at all and mine has 230k KMS plus I knew the previous owner and he had no trouble except rear calipers which I replaced!

Wife has a 151 Audi and the GS is street's ahead in every way!

Sure she's only warming up at 230kms.
But that's really impressive with the reliability and the petrol mileage is quite good.

Do they have timing chains or belts?
    What year is yours truckermal?

They have chains but burn a drop of oil so you would want to be changing it every 8k KMS! I only do 6k a year, mine is 05!

Indeed. Still not sure which model to buy in the gs models, the 450hybrid or the 300. I've made my mind up I will definitely choose lexus.

Beautiful car Eric. If I get one in the future I will let you know and give you a spin.
This time I will be choosing the gs300 or the 450hybrid.
    Cheers
