No thread? Well I couldn't find one which maybe says something about the esteem in which the Cup is held these days.

Anyway Premier League title winners Chelsea face Arsenal who could be playing their final game with Arsene Wenger in charge. Conte's side are as usual in more or less full strength good health and as usual Arsenal have some players missing but could see Mertesacker start his first game of the season.

The grauniad go with the following

    843_jpg_w_620_q_55_auto_format_usm_12_fit_max_s.jpg

With Arsenal Subs from Cech, Martinez, Jenkinson, Debuchy, Coquelin, Elneny, Walcott, Sanogo, Iwobi, Giroud, Perez, Gibbs, Mustafi

and Chelsea's Eduardo, Begovic, Zouma, Terry, Aina, Fabregas, Kenedy, Ake, Musonda, Willian, Loftus-Cheek, Batshuayi, Chalobah

The build up is on BBC One throughout the afternoon.

More chance of him staying if they lose I'd say. I'd imagine he'd be happy enough to leave on an FA Cup win.

5.30 KO. OP is a known monarchist who wants to trap us into watching the royal handshakes, anthem and Abide with Me.

    No defenders on the bench!

Guaranteed that Mertesacker will pull up with a hamstring after 10 mins.

Wenger calling certain Arsenal fans a disgrace is an odd move before a final. I mean he's obviously right but coming out and saying such things is very unlike him.

Yes unlike him to be so unguarded, don't know what to think.

His arrogance getting the better of him.
    He's not above criticism.

    He's not above criticism.

He's acknowledged that. I think its the vile abuse he takes exception to.

There's more to it than that.
I'd say he's in fear of the Board and the sack.

I'd say he's in fear of the Board and the sack.

He's angry that the board has taken so long to make a decision about his future. It does seem to be a very poor boardroom for a modern football club.

To be expecting modern day fans to be level headed and have perspective after an under performing season is just unrealistic. Obviously he deserves better but I don't think you ever turn on the fans the way he has in that interview, should always rise above that.

    He's done imo

The Board members backing him are only interested in money i.e. Kronke.
Others looking for change it seems.

Really hope we have no sending offs today.
It will be hard enough with 11.

With Kol out it's hard to see anything but a Chelsea win here and tbh I kind of think they deserve the double. Hopefully Arsenal can put a great fight though.

DT, Claude & Troopz will be fun later if this goes bad.
Think if Koscielny didn't get sent off I'd give Arsenal a good chance in a one off as they are in decent form.

Going to enjoy this anyway. Id be shocked if either side kept a clean sheet.

Harry the 7-legged spider has indicated a 4 - 3 win for Arsenal.
    He's never been wrong before.

Terry apparently has brought both kits with him so as not to be left out regardless of the victor.

How the **** is that not given as a handball.

I think they have lost their impact nowadays as they happen so often.

Might have been complaining for the handball, the offside was the right call as much as I'm not a fan of that rule. Ramsey did run towards the ball.

    Unless it's handball, that's a goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Was a handball alright. Shouldnt have stood for that but was clearly onside. Good finish.

As it wasn't a handball maybe?

What were the officials discussing though?

90 000 people there and you could hear a pin drop. Was well done and was striking, especially given the circumstance.

    Clearly handball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,056 ✭✭✭Too Tough To Die

Offside should've stood as Ramsey ran towards the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,633 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Still expect Chelsea to win as they will be mentally stronger and Arsenal could crumble.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,063 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

    Clearly handball.

I didn't see it. A shadow came across the t.v.:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,151 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

I think it's fair enough that it was given as onside, but it could be argued that Ramsey was interfering with play.

Not the handball. They'd have been discussing whether Ramsey touched the ball or whether he interfered.
