Hi looking for help
Keeps popping up on dash pollution system faulty, along with the engine light on.
And the car keeps cutting out on us so we took it to be put on the computer.
At this stage wasn't working. garage could not get anything to come up at all.
Machine wouldn't even power on so all fuses were checked and all ok. Was advised he would have to look at all wiring to get to bottom of problem/
Feeling somewhat stressed out, can someone help maybe a simple solution here?
Garage cannot take till Monday, they advised that is its not a wiring problem there's another park which needs replacing of a cost of €600

Sounds like you may have more than one issue.

First it sounds like your DPF / Cat may be partially blocked up, that would give the faults on the dash and cutting out. To check this they should test the back-pressure level in you exhaust. Yes if that is the problem could be 600 or more to fix.

But that would not stop the car powering on, which does point to electrical problem. If your "lucky" the electrical problem could be giving false error on the DFP /Cat. A shorted wire could cause both, and my not blow a fuse.

Thank you, car will start but i will say there was hardly anything coming from exhaust.
Can the dpf be cleaned as i had read it can.
This fault was on the screen when we bought the car, also would that cause the diaognostic computer not to power at all? So confused what to do as dont want a massive bill

dpf can be cleaned but once that bad, has to be taken out to do that, there a companies that specialize in this.

407 with the same engine here with the same issues last year. DPF was removed up north, cost about ?300, no issues since. Started to cause a bit of bother around 120k miles.

hi there ok so turns out 2 wires were not connected theres currantly no faults coming up now and car is running fine been advised see how we go will keep ye updated
