6:15 Salisbury - Light From Mars stepping down to compete in a class 6 race as top weight in the 6:15 at Salisbury tomorrow should be very competitive on good to firm ground tomorrow. Has shown bits and pieces of form on the AW over Christmas, so such be bang in there off a very reasonable mark, despite its age. 14/1 best price.

Thunder Snow seems an awfully big price for such a good horse. I know he went crazy in Kentucky but if that was a one off he's easily the second best horse in the field.

Been told by connections that dinkum diamond has a good ew chance today courtesy of a 10lb claim and first time blinkers and all the syndicate will be out to watch it today. 25/1 best price.

Sors should run well in the second, backed it 12s ew

Had sors in mind for this race but ended up going with rattling jewel as I taught he would like the soft ground better.

    Ken's Sam's 20-1 2.25

Gone with this EW with 5 places PP
Comes here in consistent form with 3 wins over this trip on last 3 runs, on bottom weight here too.
I like it's chances to compete

    20-1 ew

Where do I start ,Churchill at 1/2 was a gift from heaven and played in a serious way.The Curragh at the moment is a disgrace a should not be allowed to host these big events but the HRI are worse/currupt than anything a bank inquiry will ever ever find.Churchill is the best 3yr old I've seen since Golden Fleece and imo is unbeatable over any age at a mile.

I don't even think Ryan Moore gave the horse a particularly good ride, yet it still managed to pull out and drag him home.

Honestly, in such a mediocre derby year, I see no reason why this horse could be beat over a Derby trip. Obviously Coolmore think differently and have an inside track, but I can't help but feel that business is getting in the way here. Coolmore would love a 1 mile superstar and aren't positioning him as such.

Francie as a top poster here I'm astonished by your lack of Ballydoyle understanding and I'm thinking that's your student reckoning standard which is worrying.

Early days to be saying that; we're not in June yet!! Even if he does remain unbeaten over the distance, it looks like a poor enough bunch against him. Yesterday was awful.

You don't have to worry about me! I go by what I see with my eyes. Horse won pulling away yesterday over 1 mile in ground that Kevin Manning had earlier described as soft. Any other trainer would be taking their chances with the horse over an extended trip and improved ground.

Anyone questioning the fact that a 25/1 shot didn't run well, is clearly talking through his pocket and knows nothing about racing or backing horses. 25/1 shots only have to win more at 1 out of 25 time to be profitable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,553 ✭✭✭✭Copper_pipe

Exactly. 25/1 shots have a 3.84% chance of winning based on the odds.
All you have to do is determine whether you think the horse has a Greater or less chance than 3.84 % chance :)
