Usually with Argos if you reserve it for collection it's at the price advertised at the time. Had this with their Black Friday items on PS4

I've reserved one to collect in Blanch next week, is it a misprice? Same model is £549 on argos UK.

it says that the price is good until 30/5 so anybody that collects on or before that date should get it for 299

the fact that the 310 is also 299 (valid until the 30th) makes me think this is a misprice. Would be great to pick this up at 299.

it can be reserved for collection early next week in most dublin stores.

maybe it's just me, but although it says it's available for reservation in most stores, (some on 29th and 30th, most slightly later), when I actually go to make the reservation I'm getting an "Out of Stock" message, post reservation

I was able to reserve one earlier so you are just too late i'm afraid. the reservation system they use can do funny things like that.

I reserved it and went into blanch to confirm. The manager says there's a problem with the system so it's not reserved. There is a tiny amount of stock in the warehouse. He doubts they will get more stock after that.

    Sad times :(

I received a confirmation email too. As per my post above, he said it's not reserved. I hope you're able to get one..

what time did you reserve it at?

Was there a reservation number on the email? We seen before you get the email but there's no reservation number. Now if you try to book you get Out of stuck but still get reservation email without a number.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,267 ✭✭✭kc66

Got a reservation email with no product details or number, so doesn't like it is creating a reservation.

The manager in blanch said that it would be sold at whatever price it was reserved at, so hopefully your reservation works. Then he said, oh, there's a problem with the system.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,225 ✭✭✭Chardee MacDennis

I got a reservation number, so fingers crossed.

Not sure i follow you here?

Well, my point was this. Buying a laptop for an 11 year old so they can play video games and watch youtube is hardly the most educational thing you can do for the kid now is it?

Playing games and watching people fall down stairs (complete with comments from strangers) isn't a life skill or even a hobby in the accepted sense of the word.

is it any different to when we had commodore 64s or amstrads or whatever in the 80s&90s?

dont worry, i shall direct him towards your words of wisdom, i am sure he can use you as a source of infinite knowledge should he feel the need for enlightenment.

I was giving that as an example of what he would be using it for, i also assume it will work fine for his coding dojo and his talking to his cousins on skype.....

Anyway mines ordered to collect on monday, i popped into the store and the manager verified the price would be honoured, and i have a screenshot of my reservation with the price etc, so i should be well covered.

I hope many of you manage to get this and make use of it, for whatever purposes you wish!

I can't get a reservation code either. If anyone has a reservation code and isn't using it, I'd love one. If not, no worries :)

£550 on English site which makes me feel its a misprice

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 797 ✭✭✭rustynutz

I jumped on this yesterday as soon as I saw it, I've been looking for a new laptop for a while. Got my reservation number emailed to me for collection Wednesday, fingers crossed! I already have a Samsung Tab 10.1, hoping this will be more useful swing as it has a couple of full size USB ports. Does anyone know if you can plus an external hard drive into it to watch movies?

Everywhere I've looked the price is well beyond €600. Gotta be a misprice. I've reserved one anyway to see what happens. Hopefully it'll come through.

Does anyone have an exact model number? Would like to know full specs, including version of Win 10 (Home or Pro, although more than likely a home edition).

Surely if they have allowed you reserve it and have a reservation number they have to honour it? I've reserved stuff before but when I went to collect I realised there wasn't a reservation number on the text they sent, they didn't honour it then, as they said, because there wasn't a reservation number

In most cases they do honour the prices specially if when you collect the price is gone up, if it's a mispriced they do not have to honour it, it will depend on the store manager, they will probably get notified by HQ not to honour them, they might even call people that reserve them to let them know the reservation is cancel.

It happened a few months back with itunes cards sold for €25 when face value was €50
