Regularly meaning once a week or more.

I take caffeine and nicotine (vaping) daily, alcohol a few times a week, as well as the combustion products of one particular plant.

I'm addicted to caffeine and nicotine. Luckily I don't need to take any prescribed medications currently.

What drugs do you take regularly AH?

    Caffeine, nicotine, alcohol?

Is this one of those things where we're all drug addicts and we're all on "the spectrummmmm" of drug addiction?

Way to bump up the numbers kinda thing?

    Caffeine - daily.
Alcohol - a few times a week, been slowing down recently
    Nicotine - a few times a week.
Marijuana - once a month or so, down from almost daily.

I've done coke too but that's long in the past now.

I think it's more of a "Oh wow I smoke pot, everybody look how cool I am" type thread.

Other than the drug of life, alcohol, and caffeine.

Esomeprazole. Two days without it, and I am suffering.

    :(

Let me guess OP, you were expecting a lot more edgy responses.

Believe it or not I was actually more interested in what percentage of people drink caffeine daily since I recently realised I'm addicted to it, and also what percentage of people rely on prescription meds of some sort.

I wouldn't expect anyone to think smoking pot in and of itself is 'cool', although you could probably do with some.

My body is at least 30% caffeine at this stage. I probably have the caffeine version of wet brain.

Alcohol of course. For what is life without the odd tipple.

I'm a 30 year old man with a professional job. 'Pot' isn't for me.

But to answer your question, I drink alcohol and coffee occasionally.

    No prescription medicine.

That statement says far more about you then any pot smoker I know..

Not one of them indulges because they think it's cool.

Any more than you would have a drink because you think it's cool..

It's not the 70's anymore.. Do catch up.. ;)

    Are you high right now?

I didn't say people who smoke think they're cool, I said this thread is to show people how cool they think they are by typing they smoke pot on a boards thread.

Poor quality glue does that. If you really applied yourself you could make a good glue.

People are always shocked I've never taken any real drugs. Not even hash! (I'm a recovering alcoholic, so in my experience, people have had preconceptions.)

I tried to take up smoking regular cigarettes loads of times, I can't though. Tried again earlier this year, nothing doing.

I've been on (legal) benzos lots of times, they do nothing for me. So I can't even get dependent on them.

    I don't drink (anymore!)

The only caffeine I drink is at AA meetings.

I'm actually the worst addict ever. :(

    oh, wait, what?

I've no problems with people smoking pot, some of my friends smoke, they don't think they're cool or post about it on boards, they just smoke it and not make any deal about it.

I do however think people that smoke it everyday are addicted and I would strongly discourage anybody I know smoking it so regularly as there are many medical articles linking the drug to serious brain damage, schizophrenia etc.

Eltroxin for my thyroid. I've never felt it doing me any good but have to stay on it for life.

    Alcohol once a week.
Caffeine a few times a month.
MDMA & weed at gigs and festivals every 2 months or so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,150 ✭✭✭✭Malari

Caffeine most days, and alcohol a few times a week, although I don't really think of them as drugs.

Other than that, baby-be-gone pill daily, and an anti-histamine of some description as required...usually in the summer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,495 ✭✭✭✭eviltwin

Nothing, I might drink a couple cups of coffee a week and drink alcohol the odd time but I'm not on any medication and I don't use recreational drugs.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 646 ✭✭✭koumi

Caffeine is my drug of choice
Nicotine , I've tried vaping before but nothing like a roll
Paracetamol couple of times a week
Alcohol couple of times a year

(I purchased cbd oil recently and took it for about two weeks, still have half a bottle left, not sure it qualifies as a drug though)

I had my reasons. They weren't good reasons, but they were reasons all the same!

    You were really lucky..

My sister took them up in her 20's and is still lashing them into her now at 50..

I'm 2 years off the sauce and one year off the smokes this month.

For me the nicotine was way tougher.

I'm not saying that to dis respect your journey in any way..

Was just my experience and i've nothing but respect for yours..

You dodged a huge bullet :D

Every Sunday morning, is that a religious thing?

More of a ritual,Im usually hungover on Sunday mornings,my routine involves getting up at dawn, quick wash and shave, eat a handful of valium, harness up the dog and bring him for a long walk up the north co Dublin /East Meath coast.12k round trip, hangover gone by the time I'm home with breakfast and the papers. If it's a cold day I'll often take a flask of whiskey or rum to bolster me.

Nothing at the moment as I'm pregnant.

Usually Caffeine and the odd 'over the counter' sleep aid when I need it.

I don't really drink anymore and I've never smoked.

Benzos are the only hangover cure that works but it's a slippery slope! I've had some world class hangovers at work, half a Xanax stick later and I'm able to function normally in meetings etc. But it's something I'd rather not get used to.
