    Hi,

Having an issue with my house alarm. Only change was obtaining a fixed IP address from Vodafone.

Would having a fixed IP address change the line from analogue to digital?

As per the other thread, landline SMS was removed 2yrs ago. Are you sure its not a GSM alarm?

100% not GSM. HKC Security have a system that was working over the landline fine. I also opted out of Vodafone's move to VOIP but wonder have they implemented it anyway? If they had I would need to move the telephone line from the DSL port on the router to the telephone port on the router I assume or are they circumventing that?

If its gone to VOIP you'll need to your installer back to rewire the interrupt as an alarm isn't quite the same a handset.

Dial 199000 on the landline to test if its functional.
