I am beginning my first hse nursing job in December 2017. However I am hoping to go straight into training to be a teacher because I absoloutly despise nursing. I'm assuming a contract will have to be signed . What happens if I break that contract? Can you break a contract or are you bound by law to keep a contract once you sign it. Will breaking a nursing contract affect my future career as a teacher? It will take me 2 years to become a teacher but while training I am hoping to work as a nurse to get me by. I know contracts regulations differ from place to place but what is the general idea?

If it is a training contract, not dissimilar to an apprenticeship, then it could be enforced and or you would lose financially. Reality may vary.

If it is an ordinary contract, providing sufficient notice is usually adequate.

Are you sure you can become a teacher in 2 years - check it carefully.
