This is one of the best videos i've ever watched.
Peterson is a Professor of psychology (recently in trouble with SJWs) who discusses a variety of things with Joe Rogan.
Jung/archetypes/integration of the dark side/shadow; projection; comedy/tricksters; ingroups/outgroups; mythos/logos; truth/reason vs the emotion/social; and how this might relate to the new authoritarian left and his recent experience with them.

Of course i love Joe Rogan (always curious and open).
His bit about how we're living in a chaotic period (with basically a trollish American President) is utterly fascinating and well worth watching (about half way in). He maintains we're in a state of chaos at the moment that could throw up something amazing or catastrophic.

    Well worth watching.

Co-incidentally I'd watched a bit of this guy earlier.

Seemed interesting, however its hard to listen to any outspoken Americans these days, as they're so utterly obsessed with their left/right political game and will stop at no lengths to get even the tiniest of knocks at their opposing team.

Trump isn't intelligent enough to be a Trollish president. Thats just something some people say because they can't believe anyone that Rich could be that stupid. Has to be trolling right....RIGHT!!

    Stupid...?? lol

He's clearly not stupid. That's a myth propagated by bitter angry lefties, who don't understand his strengths or why he has continually been successful in most things he puts his mind and energy to!

People think he's stupid, because he doesn't bother with all the pointless trivialities that people seem to think are so important in modern society... He basically just sticks two fingers up to anything he considers to be pointless nonsense, and cracks on with the important things!

Just because he's playing the game different to you, does not make him less intelligent...

Trump has a lot of people genuinely puzzled and confused. So many people just don't get the man at all... I must admit, its quite amusing to watch. :P

Got to "SJW" and thought...I'm out.

Not that I'm pro SJW...still not sure what it really means. It's just the reduction of so much debate to that term, think it's almost killed off the "PC brigade" stuff of a decade ago, bores me.

Maybe we need to define 'intelligence', in my world, this man is extraordinary unintelligent. It seems like we also may need to define 'success' to. I'm afraid we have another George w type character on our hands, if not worse.

Could people calling Trump stupid give 5 clear examples of stupid things hes done that have led you to this conclusion....

Seems a person who makes a billion dollars company, most famous businessman in tge wirld and leads a successful presidential campaign couldnt really be overly stupid.

I'm interested in learning the facts

There's so many ways of measuring intelligence they basically become meaningless eventually, everyone will be extremely intelligent in certain areas and not intelligent at all in others.

When I think of someone stupid, I think of someone who has made bad choices which lead them to leading a life they don't want to lead. Like someone putting in no effort in school and ending up with no job and no money. Or someone driving a car too fast and ending up crashing. Those are stupid things.

Becoming a billionaire and president of one of the largest countries in the world, becoming so famous almost every person in the world will recognise you? I couldn't call that stupid. Especially when that was his goal. No easy things to achieve there. I could call Donald Trump a lot of things but stupid wouldn't be one of them.

Yeh, I sort of thought this until things progressed during his presidency. . Being classed "stupid" is harsh and can be easily dismissed because like how could somebody "Stupid" get to be the most powerful person in the world?

Well, I am not going to say he is stupid, but hes certainly not overly intelligent. People calling him successful need to define what they mean by success. As far as I know, he hasn't actually increased his wealth much on what he inherited. Give me a couple of billion and see what I can do with it, then I will comment as to whether or not I think he has been wise with his money. The only success he seems to of actually had is convincing people he is successful and using that fake idea to convince people that's why he would make a good president.

In terms of the things he has done as president, some people think he is playing an intricate game of chess, but there is nothing to suggest this is the case. Its getting to the stage where he appears to be isolating himself even from his own party who are starting to turn on him.

What he is doing is shattering normality on capital hill, that I will give him. But I believe it looks more like somebody completely out of their depth , making mistake after mistake, then somebody with a cohesive, coordinated plan.

I think he is simply not qualified to be President of the USA and so I reckon his presidency will be a disaster. I would wait until his 4 years are up (if he even lasts 4 years) and then I am confident I will be able to say "this president made some stupid decisions".

You are right though. I'd love to see some of the people here who reckon he is stupid or unintelligent or whatever take a run at becoming Taoiseach or President and tell me that it doesn't involve some level of intelligence.

It's kind of like when people would watch the Champions League final and say this player or that player is rubbish. Yeah, because they've climbed up the ranks of European football despite being rubbish at the game. Some folks need to get a grip on reality.

Presumably at some point in 2015 Donald Trump decided he was going to run for President from that starting point he was able to become President.

You can argue that this was a stupid decision because this guy should not be in charge of a nation, nevermind the US, but you can't deny that he was able to achieve his goal.

I don't imagine that it's easy to become President. A lot of planning and maneuvering and quick thinking involved. So, yeah, probably some kind of intelligence is required.

Maybe some people find it comforting to imagine that successful members of society are unintelligent or useless?

At least it feels good to bash Trump!

That little rat basterd was arrested this week, and he's actually a Berkeley lecturer. This is the level of leftist human waste that is now teaching in colleges around the world.

Just on the top part, what qualifications are actually relevant for political positions? Honest question, because it's said a lot about politicians all over the world that they're not qualified.

When I think of politics, I largely see them as figure heads and nothing more. The real decisions are being made behind the scenes by people who we don't know, or get to see, or get to question. The President of the states is often said to be the most powerful in the world, yet all of them, once they are in office, complain that they can't do what they want to do.

I agree , I don't think anybody is qualified to be a leader of a country and in many cases the wrong kind of people seem to get to these positions.

However, most presidents follow a certain protocol within the role. Presidents who feel hamstrung are less likely to be abusing their position to influence things like . . Say . . An FBI investigation into election fraud . .

I think people defending Trump are focusing on the hard line left people throwing mud at him. They need to forget about those attacking Trump and try to objectively look at what he has been doing and saying...

The best , made up, story I can come up with for Trump is that he is oblivious to how bad the things he is doing looks. That he is unaware that any of his team were colluding with Russia or he just doesn't think that its a problem. That he doesn't realise that sacking Comey because he thought it would be popular is not a helpful move and only makes his credibility look even more wafer thin...

I think Trump is very dangerous because it looks like a White House divided right now. They cant even keep intelligence regarding the UK in house. It looks like the conduct of the president permeates down throughout his administration and it looks extremely toxic. .

Our generation have never really experienced a proper war and as such, we don't value how important the art of diplomacy is to world peace. Trump is a loose cannon that unsettles everybody, other then his entrenched supporters or maybe Saudi Arabia. He is disrespectful to other counrties, even friends, sexist, xenophobic and racist. These don't need to be debated as there are countless things he has said that would back that up... Mexicans, Pussy grabbing, closing borders etc...

This is not good for world security. The Doomsday clock has said not since the Cuban missile crisis has the world been so close to disaster. This is scientists, not hippy lefties, saying that "language is so important to diplomacy" (or something like that")...

You cant hide behind radical lefties and ignore the signs that Trump is an extremely dangerous man. He is out of his depth or he's a puppet for Russia or maybe a bit of both. How anybody can defend this is a sign of how easy it is to get people focusing on anything other then the actions or statements of the president that are causing so much damage throughout the world.

I would say he decided on it earlier, back in 2012 (I think?) when he started his "birther" attacks on Obama.

Hahaha! You think the Doomsday clock means anything?! Listen, just cause it's "scientists" moving the hands, that doesn't mean sh!t. Of course it's just a political toy. Oh the world is closer to annihilation now, than at any point since the Cuban missile crisis? More so than the Yom Kippur War? More so than in the early 80s, with Reagans hard stand towards the Russians (they were convinced an attack was coming btw)? Donald's relationship with the current Russian government is well known, the Chinese seem to at least get on with him, yet we're to take it that this represents a more dangerous time than when the two blocs were ready for MAD, had millions of soldiers facing off along thousands of miles of borders?... Yeah, sure
