General query. Are there any minimum educational requirements for roles in the Central Bank?

    Thanks in advance.

Depends on the job, the division and the competition. While a number of them will have relatively low minimum requirements you will have people with a lot more experience applying for the roles. (min requirement level 8, people applying with PHDs)
What type of role are you looking at? Massive difference between an entry level data officer and a supervisor

In agreement with the previous poster, it depends on the department and the role itself. Pay, lack of recognition and the level of staff turnover seems to be an issue in there, if you look at the likes of Glassdoor.

Thanks for replies. Was thinking about putting through a general application as advertised on the website.
While I have extensive experience in financial services, I have very limited educational qualifications.

I put in a general application a couple of years ago and was in same boat as you....loads of experience but only had the QFA. Got a thanks but no thanks.....

But I think times have changed with them expanding....I know a girl just offered a job.....not sure if entry level or not....41k starting salary which I thought was decent enough if it was entry level

Edit....she has loads of experience and doubt she has a degree

    I think I'll give it a shot...
I know quite a few there now and think I would do a very good interview if I got that far.

What do you mean by a general application?

Another general query. I recently completed an interview with CB. Got very positive feedback but unfortunately didnt get the job.

They advised however that my CV would be held in a "talent pool" for the next 6 months as i was considered a very strong candidate. Does anyone have any experience on this and the likely hood of getting a job from the talent pool?

Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers

They have both an internal talent pool and general applications (which will normally go into talent pool if there is nothing immediately there to interview them for).

Talent pool is used for two things:

    1. If a job comes up that fits that person and they can bring them in immediately to fill a role. This basically never happens any more as you need a full hiring process for any new appointment, can be done for v short term cover work but havent seen it done any time recently.

    2. If a job comes up that you would fit they can call you for interview as if you had applied. Often this is a case of they would like to hire this person but were beaten out on their last application, they believe they are a good fit and should get them back in and try to get them for the next role that comes up that would suit them.
This does happen, especially now that they are expanding a number of teams there. I would expect to see movement on talent pool/general applications as roles come up over the next year.

Thanks for that. Food for thought. My problem is I'm looking to move from my current role very soon so its hard to know how long to wait for a possible role that may or may not materialise. Anyway, thanks again.

There is a section to put in a general application on the website - i.e not for one specific role.

Well Larry, it’s a year down the track. Tell us what happened next.
