Hi, not sure if this is the best place to post but had a look around and it seems the most relevant.

Anyway I recently cancelled my broadband and moved to LTE as it had much better speeds in my area and it's also alot cheaper. The problem is I need the home phone for incoming calls only, the cheapest I can find for this is 25 euro a month which seems excessive, does anyone know of any cheaper providers?

    Thank you in advance.

I have a broadband only connection then ported my landline over to IrishVoip Got a device plugged in my phones and all my house phones still work, kept my number and pay a fiver or so a month.

Loads of Voip options like the above, no need for a fixed line. Best bit? You can answer it on your mobile when out and about.

Cheers for the replys, I will certainly look into going down the VoIP route, one of my concerns is that if it's going through the internet is it as reliable?.

I'm still interested in anyone who can suggest the cheapest line rental only provider as a comparison, thanks.

Cheapest you'll get is 25+. Wholesale cost is about 22/mo.

It is as reliable as your net connection - I moved my parents line/number to IrishVoip last year, apart from my breaking my network for a bit it has been rock solid. I have monitoring that it will contact me if the SIP connection goes down
