    Hi

The public charge point I'm using does not lock the cable, so I'm afraid of the cable getting nabbed

Does anyone recommend a cable lock I could buy ?

    thanks

    What car are you driving?

Is it really something worth worrying about? It's such a niche item that I can't imagine most opportunist thieves would even bother stealing.

Cable lock switch in car (leaf) should lock it ?

If it's a leaf you can use the "lock" switch. I leave mine switched to "auto" in general but you can set "lock" aswell.

Is it a standard 16a type 2 to type 1 cable? Assuming it is it's still the guts of €200. You'd think the cable would lock to the car!

Highly unlikely to be robbed, but if concerned, you could go old school.

Tighten a towing eye into the tow hole using a wrench as leverage. Attach a heavy duty lock to the cable line and when plugging the van in, you lock the cable to the tow eye. Make sure the lock is small enough that it cant be slipped over the cable end, but big enough that it can secure the cable and the thickness of the tow eye.

The Fluence ZE locks the cable to the car with the central locking.
I would imagine the Kangoo would use the same hardware?

Correct and right .. just realized couldn't pull the cable out with the doors locked this evening! (first time public charging :o )

On a similar note. When you're finished charging, unlock your car/van and press the blue plug release at the car end to unplug.
The charging will stop and you can pull the plug out of the charger without your ecars card.

Not at all. By and large there is no requirement to use your card to end scp sessions. The charge point will terminate the session when the car kills the sessio.

Sometimes I arrive to SCP with the screen flashing blue saying "disconnect cable". If people are disconnecting without the card perhaps that explains it

I disconnect all the time from SCPS, the session ends correctly and the shutter comes down on the SCO socket.

I suspect what you are seeing is a fault message

    What car do you drive?
In my leaf I cannot disconnect from a SCP unless the card is swiped.

The plug is not locked in at the SCP side

I was pretty sure it did.
Then again, I never leave the car long enough at an SCP until the charge finishes. I must check this for myself!
